Next-Gen Transit Ticketing

Starting in 2017, MVM partnered with Parkeon Transit Ltd to design, fabricate, and assemble a new generation of railway ticket machines. The goal was to drastically improve the commuter experience by offering sleek, modern units with a wide range of cashless and cash payment options.

The Manufacturing Process

Built entirely in our Poole factory, these machines undergo rigorous testing and commissioning before being dispatched. Because they are deployed on exposed railway platforms, the units are built to withstand severe external environmental conditions.

Advanced Finishing

To ensure long-term protection, the kiosks are finished with a highly durable, anti-graffiti textured paint. This is achieved using an advanced E-coating process—a method trusted by the automotive industry—which uses an electrical current to deposit paint, ensuring unparalleled corrosion resistance and adhesion.

Spectrum

Urban Telecommunications Kiosks

Designed, manufactured, and installed over 600 modern, low-maintenance telephone kiosks throughout London's bustling streets.

Urban Telecommunications Kiosks

When our client acquired a competing telephone network, their first priority was to replace outdated phone boxes with a sleek, low-maintenance modern kiosk. Drawing on our extensive history developing kiosks for major clients like BT, MVM was the clear choice for the project.

Rapid Rollout

After refining several conceptual designs down to a final, approved prototype, MVM initiated high-volume production. At the peak of the rollout, our dedicated installation teams successfully deployed up to thirty kiosks per week across various high-traffic London locations.

End-to-End Service

The success of the project relied heavily on seamless logistics and continuous liaison with local authorities. Following the installation phase, the client extended their contract with MVM to provide ongoing maintenance, ensuring the network remains fully operational.

BT / MOTO Services

Heavy-Duty Communications Housing

Constructed massive, 5-meter wide communication structures engineered to withstand gale-force winds at highway service stations.

Heavy-Duty Communications Housing

MVM was commissioned to design, manufacture, and install large-scale communication housings for BT payphones located at Moto highway service stations. The completed structures stand as impressive landmarks, measuring approximately 5 meters in diameter and 3 meters high.

Robust Engineering

Because these freestanding structures are exposed to severe weather and gale-force wind loading, structural integrity was paramount. They are fabricated using heavy-duty steel supports, a lightweight aluminum composite roof, and toughened glass sides.

Installation

The units are anchored to substantial reinforced concrete foundations. The groundwork took approximately two weeks to prepare, followed by a further two weeks for MVM's team to assemble and install the complete illuminated structures on site.

MOTO Service Stations

Granada Re-branding Structures

Designed, manufactured, and installed 25 massive 'goal post' re-branding structures across nationwide service stations in just four weeks.

MVM played a pivotal role in the design, manufacture, and installation of extensive re-branding structures and 'information points' for MOTO service stations during the Granada re-branding initiative.

Rapid Nationwide Rollout

The ambitious requirement was to design, manufacture, and install twenty-five massive 'goal post' structures at different MOTO locations nationwide within a strict four-week window. Accurate planning and seamless communication were vital, as there was absolutely no margin for error or delay.

Precision Preparation

Before initiating the on-site installations, the MVM team conducted comprehensive nationwide site surveys. Furthermore, they fully assembled a test structure at the MVM factory to verify the best assembly procedures and ensure the entire installation team was fully conversant with the structural mechanics. Thanks to this preparation, the final structure was installed flawlessly on the very last day of the four-week program.

London Underground

Subterranean Vending Security

Engineered modular security housings for Cadbury and Coca-Cola installed under strict 4-hour nightly maintenance windows.

Subterranean Vending Security

Working within the extreme logistical constraints of the London Underground, MVM designed and developed a range of highly robust, modular security housings for Cadbury and Coca-Cola vending machines.

The Four-Hour Challenge

Installations could only occur between midnight and 4:00 AM when the train network was suspended. This meant our teams had a maximum of four hours to transport the materials to the platform, assemble the housing, complete the installation, and vacate the station.

Precision Execution

To meet this strict deadline, the housings were engineered for rapid assembly without compromising structural integrity or strict London Underground fire regulations. Following intensive fire training and rigorous test-builds at the MVM factory, our teams successfully installed over fifty units flawlessly.

Eco-Friendly Ventilation Systems (ERV)

Funded by the UK's Department of Energy and Climatic Change, MVM collaborated with a specialized team to engineer a highly efficient home heating and ventilation system aimed at radically reducing carbon emissions in modern housing.

Innovative Technology

The system goes beyond standard heat recovery; it also utilizes moisture to ensure healthy indoor air quality. By integrating a newly patented reverse-flow enthalpy exchanger with advanced heat pump technology, the resulting ERV system controls both indoor humidity and temperature seamlessly.

Groundbreaking Efficiency

Initial modeling and pre-production prototypes confirmed that the unit achieves a drastically higher Coefficient of Performance (COP). The system proved to be over twice as efficient as existing leading technologies, capable of adapting to extreme climates ranging from damp maritime to hot and arid.

Translink

Nationwide Railway Kiosks

Secured and delivered a massive contract to manufacture hundreds of multi-payment kiosks for railway networks across the UK.

Nationwide Railway Kiosks

In 2020, MVM expanded its footprint in transit infrastructure by securing a major contract to supply hundreds of ticket kiosks for railway stations across the United Kingdom.

Complex Integration

These units are full multi-payment kiosks, engineered to securely process notes, coins, cards, mobile pay, and ANO. The complexity of the internal components required absolute precision in housing design and production.

Manufacturing at Scale

This massive contract served as a testament to MVM's capability to successfully handle high-volume manufacturing, complex assembly, and rigorous quality control on a national scale without compromising on lead times.
